About the Role

We are seeking a UI/UX Design Engineer to join an innovative technology company developing advanced lidar-based sensing and perception solutions .

In this role, you will design intuitive, visually compelling experiences that make lidar technology and lidar-generated data easier to understand, interact with, and consume. You will work closely with product managers and engineers to take ideas from initial user requirements through wireframes, prototypes, testing, and final implementation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a product-focused designer who enjoys working on technically complex products and collaborating closely with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

- Create visually engaging, intuitive UI designs for web and mobile applications , maintaining consistency across products, brand guidelines, and design systems.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand user requirements and translate them into effective design concepts.
- Develop wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes based on user research, feedback, and usability testing.
- Build interactive prototypes to demonstrate and validate new concepts using tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar platforms .
- Apply hands-on knowledge of AI-enabled tools and workflows where appropriate to improve the design and user experience process.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and meet both functional and visual requirements .
- Consider technical feasibility, performance,



and scalability when developing designs and work with engineering to resolve design-to-development challenges.
- Design responsive experiences that work effectively across different devices, resolutions, and screen sizes .
- Conduct and analyze user testing to identify pain points and continuously improve the product experience.
- Maintain strong attention to detail across visual design, usability, and interaction patterns.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science , or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of skilled UI/UX design experience , preferably within a product-focused technology environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience with wireframes, user flows, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes .
- Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision , or comparable design and prototyping tools.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript , with the ability to effectively collaborate with software engineering teams.
- Experience designing complex or highly technical products is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across product, design, and engineering teams .

Ideal Background Candidates coming from lidar, robotics, autonomous systems, computer vision, mapping, industrial technology, AI, or other technically complex software products may be particularly well suited for this opportunity.

We're looking for someone who can combine strong visual and interaction design skills with enough technical understanding to work effectively alongside engineers and turn complex technology into a simple, intuitive user experience.
