About Us:
Community Living North Grenville supports individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities so that they can reach their full potential and enjoy all aspects of community life.
Support is provided through a wide variety of services that incorporate supported independent living, 24-hour residential support, passport services and special services at home.
We currently have two available positions. Your role at CLNG will include:
- Demonstrate a respectful relationship with each individual which recognizes their rights as citizens and promotes dignity and wellbeing.
- Involve individuals and their advocates in the decision making process.
- Be aware of the unique strengths, needs and preferences of each individual, particularly as it relates to an individual’s goals and aspirations.
- Work alongside colleagues to ensure safety and security of individuals at all times. This position will require the incumbent to be awake overnight monitoring the home while the individuals living there are resting.
- Assist people in the community so that they may participate in the cultural, recreational, leisure, employment, and education activities in the community.
- Provide personal care as required (i.e.; toileting, medicating, dressing, feeding, etc.)
- Support individuals to make informed choices in all areas of life including healthy lifestyle (nutrition, diet, and exercise), budgeting, medical and safety issues.
- Housekeeping, laundry and meal preparation required for residential care locations.
You are a good fit for our role if you have:
- A certificate or diploma related to a Human Service field such as a Developmental Services Worker (DSW) diploma, PSW Certificate/Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, etc. Preference will be given to those with a Behaviour Sciences/Autism diploma or degree.
- A valid class G driver’s license with safe driving record is preferred but not required.
- Appropriate experience providing personal care or support to individuals with disabilities.
- A clear criminal records check for the vulnerable sector.
- A willingness to be flexible and open to learning current skills.
The pay and benefits we can provide to you are:
- Our current hiring needs are for two permanent part time employees who can work 12 hour shifts overnight where they will be required to be awake. The schedule is Saturday, Sunday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday (in a 2 week pay period). The incumbent would work 72 hours every two week pay period.
- Competitive compensation including a starting wage of $28.92 per hour.
- Additional pay of 13.5% on top of all hours work which is payment in lieu of vacation, sick time and benefits.
- RRSP options for part time employees.
Pay: From $28.92 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 per week
