The YMCA of Three Rivers is committed to better serving our communities, where and how they need us most. For over 150 years, the YMCA has supported the needs of our communities in Guelph and Wellington Counties, Stratford-Perth, and Waterloo Region. Collectively we have provided accessible, inclusive, and magical day camp experiences.

As one of the largest camp providers, the YMCA of Three Rivers plays a leading role in providing quality camp experiences for children and extraordinary employment opportunities for young people. Our day camping department manages 10 day camp locations, serving thousands of campers each summer and employing hundreds of young leaders across our communities. This is where you come in.

What you’ll Be Doing…

You will be a part of a year-round camping team, managing multiple day camps across 5 cities. During the off season (September to May) you will work part-time to support administrative tasks. During this season you will be responsible for updating operating procedures, supporting school break programs, creating communications and preparing for the hiring season.

You will be responsible for hiring, building and training strong, dynamic, and diverse seasonal teams, inspiring them to be exceptional young leaders.

During peak season (May-August) you will oversee the quality and consistency of camp program delivery and ensure provincial and legislative standards are met. You will manage a budget and ensure consistency across all day camps in excellent customer service, staff training, and quality program delivery.

You will oversee and support intake for an inclusion support program, offering 1:1 support for 80+ campers with additional needs. You will be committed to ensuring that day camps are safe, fun, and engaging for everyone. This role reports to the Day Camp and Youth Programs Lead and will directly supervise a team of 16.

What you will bring…

Ideally, you will have experience working in camp settings and leading large teams. You are committed to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to diverse needs. You have well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills; the ability to use good judgement and problem-solve; and strong professional conduct.

You will be a leader able to take initiative and delegate with the team to meet the needs of the programs. You have up-to-date Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification (or are willing to receive) and the successful completion of Vulnerable Police Records Check within the last 3 months. Must have the ability to travel between all camp locations.

What you will gain…

You will join a dynamic team of passionate leaders and an organization that has a massive impact across our community. You will be joining a local organization, but you will also be a part of a global movement. Your work will have an impact and the community we all call home will be a little better every day because of you.

We provide several continuous professional learning opportunities at no cost to you.
