Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Intergovernmental Affairs, the Director, Sustainable Development is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, management,
and integration of government policies and programs supporting sustainable resource development in Nunavut. The incumbent assists in the overall development and coordination of Government of Nunavut (GN) positions and interests regarding land use plans, environmental assessment review processes, and related assessments with Institutions of Public Government (IPGs). This position leads and coordinates interdepartmental reviews, often serving as the lead author of GN submissions and representing the government in engagement with communities, IPGs, and regulators on resource development issues.
