About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Draftsperson to join our fabrication team, specializing in the production of shop drawings for Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) panel systems. In this role, you will translate architectural and structural drawings into fabrication-ready shop drawings, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project specifications. This is an excellent prospect for someone who enjoys hands-on technical drafting work and wants to grow their expertise in architectural panel systems.

Responsibilities

- Interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and details, and translate them into fabrication-ready shop drawings

- Produce plan details, elevation layouts, and section/detail drawings to scale, with accurate dimensioning and callouts

- Detail panel systems including attachment methods, extrusions, and substructure components

- Account for tolerances, reveals, joint conditions, and thermal movement in all panel fabrication details

- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and shop personnel to ensure drawings meet fabrication and installation requirements

- Revise drawings based on engineering, architect, or client feedback in a timely manner

- Maintain organized drawing files and version control in line with company standards

- Support the shop floor with drawing clarifications as needed during fabrication





Requirements

- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D detailing); ability to visualize and problem-solve in 3D

- Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and details, and translate them into fabrication-ready shop drawings

- Strong understanding of panel systems, attachment methods, extrusions, and substructure detailing (or willingness/aptitude to learn ACM-specific systems)

- Ability to produce plan details, elevation layouts, and section/detail drawings to scale, with accurate dimensioning and callouts

- Understanding of tolerances, reveals, joint conditions, and thermal movement as they relate to panel fabrication

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy under project deadlines

- Good communication skills for coordinating with engineering, production, and project teams

- Diploma or certificate in drafting, design technology, or a related field considered an asset

- Experience in architectural metals, curtain wall, cladding, or building envelope drafting considered a strong asset

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
