Important: This is a safety-sensitive position. Pre-access and random drug and alcohol testing is required as a condition of employment and continued site access.

We are looking to add a dependable and motivated Driller's Assistant to our growing team.

This is a full-time, year-round position that combines shop and field work and offers a clear path for the right person to advance into a Geotechnical Driller or Supervisor role.

The work is physically demanding and best suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, learning equipment, solving problems, and building a long-term career in the drilling industry.

Responsibilities

- Assist the Driller and other crew members with daily drilling operations
- Handle drill tooling, sampling equipment and drilling materials
- Assist with setup, teardown and movement of drilling equipment
- Perform physically demanding work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Participate in equipment inspections, maintenance and general upkeep
- Assist with site organization, housekeeping and safe work practices
- Follow direction from the Driller/Supervisor
- Communicate clearly with the drilling crew and site personnel
- Help identify and troubleshoot equipment or field issues
- Follow company, client and regulatory safety requirements at all times

Work Schedule & Travel This position requires regular out-of-town work throughout Alberta and Western Canada.

- Shifts may be up to 12 hours per day
- Rotations may be up to 24 days on / 4 days off depending on project requirements
- Accommodations are provided while working away




- Meal allowance is provided for eligible non-camp projects
- Work may include shop duties between field projects
- Pre-access and random drug and alcohol testing is required

Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing sustained physical labour for extended shifts.

Qualifications Required

- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
- Ability to meet company and client drug and alcohol testing requirements, including pre-access and random testing
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended shifts
- Willingness to travel and work out of town
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Safety-conscious attitude
- Dependable work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a drilling crew

Strong Assets

- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Previous experience in drilling, construction, oilfield, farming, equipment operation, commercial driving or general labour
- Experience working out of town or in remote environments
- Experience operating equipment or working around heavy machinery

Safety Training Assets

- H2S Alive
- Ground Disturbance Level 2
- First Aid
- CSTS, CSO or PCST
- Defensive Driving

- $26.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience and capabilities
