5-Tonne Truck Operator / Event Setup Crew

Pay: $22–$24/hour

Status: ON-CALL with opportunity for FULL-TIME

This is not a sit-in-the-truck job. Driving is required to move our inventory to and from events, but the primary responsibility is physical labour: loading, unloading, setting up, tearing down, and protecting event furniture.

If you’re only interested in driving, this job is not for you.

What the Job Actually Is

- Drive a 5-tonne truck safely across the GTA, downtown Toronto, and highways
- Back into loading docks, underground garages, and tight venue spots
- Load, unload, and handle furniture and event equipment carefully
- Set up and tear down event furniture exactly as instructed
- Secure and protect inventory using straps, blankets, dollies, and ramps
- Work long shifts, early mornings, late nights, and weekends
- Follow all company procedures — no shortcuts

A NIGHT in the Life

You start at the warehouse, check your truck, load furniture, blankets, dollies, and straps. You drive to a downtown venue, navigate tight streets and docks, then get out and start moving furniture—tables, chairs, lounge pieces, and specialty items—rolling, lifting, wrapping, and placing everything exactly as the event plan requires. After setup, you step back, make sure everything is safe and protected, then move on to the next event.

Once the event ends, you tear down, load the truck, and return everything to the warehouse without damage. By the end of the day, you’ve driven, lifted, set up, and broken down, making events look seamless. This is hands-on, physically demanding work every day.

Shift Examples

- Friday – Monday (nights)
- Thursday – Sunday (Afternoons / Nights)

Schedules depend on event demand and can include long days.

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

- 25 years or older
- Valid G-Class licence or higher
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Proven experience driving 5-tonne or similar trucks




- Comfortable driving downtown Toronto and all major highways
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and working on your feet all day
- Clear understanding that this role is a setup/teardown labour job, not just driving

Nice to Have (Optional)

- Event rental, furniture delivery, or logistics experience
- Warehouse or production background
- Experience working under pressure and tight timelines
