Location: 10533 Longwoods Rd, Chatham, ON N7M 5J7

Positions Available: 2 x Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Schedule:

- Typically Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Must be flexible to suit production, harvest, and weather needs.
- Some Saturday shifts required.

Position Summary We are looking for versatile, experienced DZ Truck Drivers & Farm Equipment Operators to join our dedicated team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for safely operating farm machinery during field operations and driving DZ commercial vehicles to transport potatoes and supplies between fields, processing facilities, and storage locations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our farm.

Key Responsibilities

- Safe Transport: Drive a DZ commercial vehicle to transport potatoes and farm supplies in compliance with traffic laws and MTO regulations.
- Field Operation: Safely and efficiently operate tractors, heavy equipment, and specialized farm machinery for planting, cultivating, and harvesting.
- Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct mandatory pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections. Perform routine servicing, cleaning, and basic mechanical troubleshooting on farm equipment.
- Compliance: Maintain an accurate daily logbook, trip reports, and delivery documentation.
- Cargo Security & Labor: Load and unload bulk potato cargo securely.



Utilize hand and power tools for tasks related to irrigation setup and field upkeep.
- Adaptability: Work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, safely adapting to changing traffic patterns, rural road conditions, and weather.

Requirements & Qualifications

- License: Valid Ontario Class DZ Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract.
- Experience: Proven commercial truck driving and heavy equipment/farm machinery operation experience. Agricultural hauling or moving bulk produce is a major asset.
- Transmission: Ability to operate a manual transmission is required.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and use hand/power tools safely.
- Physical Capability: Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly and handle physical labor in changing outdoor weather conditions.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours and Saturday shifts, particularly during high-demand planting and harvest windows.
