Job Summary To support the efforts of the estimating team, by preparing complete proposals through analyzing all specified requirements, planning, scheduling, and costing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Interpret documentation, specifications, and design drawings to define the scope/contents of the estimate.
- Assign defined scopes to all subtrades and suppliers, including our internal estimating team, for any self-performing work.
- Attend pre-tender site visits, schedule and lead internal bid review meetings, pre-and post-tender. If awarded the project, schedule and lead internal handover meetings to the project team.
- Estimates to be planned in phases as per the scope of work including all electrical shutdowns in stages with understanding lead delivery times on equipment.
- A strong understanding and experience of retrofits in occupied buildings would be an asset.
- Complete final cost estimates for all tenders and final submissions for review and approval.
- Close tenders, including tender reviews, sub-proposal reviews, and associated analysis.
- Organize files and correspondence on active tenders.
- Review customer Request for Quotations, specifications, scheduling requirements, bid documents, and submit as required Request for Information.
- Prepare detailed take-offs, engineered drawings and be able to read multiple disciplines of blueprints.
- Setup Accubid for project estimations and any costing, planning, or scheduling reports.
- Develop the project schedule by using specific project methodologies on how to execute the project from start to finish.
- Prepare a complete list of materials and quantities take off.
- Contact, coordinate and follow-up with all vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers during the estimate process to ensure all pricing is provided well in advance of closing in time.




- Establish project cost control for tracking of equipment, material, labour, tools, subcontractors, and miscellaneous costs.
- Proactively search for new bid opportunities and maintain constant communication with the division manager regarding electrical project opportunities to grow and expand the electrical division.
- Coordinate material procurement and all logistics as required.
- Coordinate with internal divisions to secure prices from the Mechanical, HVAC, and Custom Fabrication Divisions.
- Ensure all proposals are in compliance with contract requirements.
- Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Organize and attend job progress meetings as required.
- Assist the Division Manager in all other duties as required, including but not limited to contract change orders, deficiencies, and close-out items.

Skills/Qualifications:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Construction/Engineering or Gold Seal in estimating and holds a 309A Electrician license.
- Strong knowledge of Accubid.
- Relevant hands-on field experience.
- Strong understanding of specifications, construction methods, and procedures including ESA permit fees and inspections.
- Exceptional knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Project, and Word).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- A positive attitude, strong team skills, and display of leadership qualities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- The ability to multitask and problem-solve.
- Knowledge of construction processes (RFQ, RFI, Change Orders, etc.).
- Ability to attend site walkthroughs and visit job sites as required.

Pay: $100,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
