Kent Employment Law is a boutique employment law firm with offices in Vancouver, Surrey, Kelowna and Victoria. We advise and represent both employees and employers across a broad range of workplace matters, from practical day-to-day advice to complex employment disputes.

We are looking for a capable, practical and hard-working lawyer to join our Surrey office. This is an opportunity to take conduct of your own files, work directly with clients and collaborate with experienced employment lawyers when needed. The successful candidate will represent both employees and employers and should appreciate the perspective and variety that comes with working on both sides of employment disputes.

The role

You will

- Manage employment law files from initial consultation through resolution;
- Advise employees and employers clearly and practically;
- Draft pleadings, correspondence, employment agreements and settlement documents;
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations and litigation;
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients; and
- The opportunity to contribute to the firm’s online presence by reviewing and drafting blog posts and working collaboratively with our social media team to develop content and increase our social media presence.





What we are looking for The ideal candidate will have:

- At least three years of legal experience, including substantial employment law experience;
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia, or eligibility for membership;
- Strong legal analysis, writing, negotiation and advocacy skills;
- Sound judgment and a practical approach to resolving problems;
- The ability to manage files independently, stay organized and meet deadlines;
- A strong work ethic and commitment to responsive client service; and
- A genuine interest in representing both employees and employers.
