Engagement & Events Coordinator
Bring your creativity, organization, and people skills to Genoa!
We’re looking for an Engagement & Events Coordinator to help create the moments our employees look forward to all year long. This is a full-time, 20-month contract position, with the potential for extension, based in our Mount Pearl, NL office.
About the Opportunity
This isn’t your typical events role. You’ll help shape the employee experience at Genoa - planning events and engagement activities, creating opportunities for employees to connect and celebrate, and keeping all the details behind those experiences running smoothly. That same knack for organization will extend to supporting our Executive team and coordinating board activities, where you’ll help keep priorities, schedules, and details on track.
You might be an experienced administrator with a flair for events, an events professional who loves keeping things organized, or someone from customer service or hospitality who knows how to create a outstanding experience. What matters is that you’re organized, adaptable, great with people, and know how to make things happen.
What You’ll Do
- Put People First: Collaborate across the business to plan and deliver employee events, engagement initiatives, and activities that build connection, support well-being, and strengthen our culture.
- Create Lasting Relationships: Bring fresh ideas to the employee experience, promote upcoming activities, encourage participation, and find creative ways to bring people together. Coordinate board meetings and communications, including scheduling, travel arrangements, meeting materials, and confidential documentation.
- Own It: Lead the Social Committee and take events from idea to execution - coordinating logistics, budgets, vendors, facilities, communications, and all the details in between. Help keep day-to-day office operations organized and running smoothly.
- Make a Difference: Create welcoming, well-organized experiences for employees and guests, whether you’re coordinating a company-wide event, supporting a meeting, or making sure lunch arrives when it should.
- Never Stand Still: Provide calendar management and administrative support to the executive team, juggling priorities, anticipating what’s needed next, and adapting as things change - because sometimes Plan B (or C) is part of the job.
What You Bring You bring at least five years of experience in administration, event or logistics coordination, customer service, hospitality, or a related area, including experience supporting senior leaders. Your practical experience is backed by a diploma or degree in Office Administration, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
You’re comfortable using Microsoft Office and know how to keep calendars, documents, spreadsheets, events, and competing priorities organized. You communicate well,
exercise sound judgment and discretion with confidential information, and can adapt when plans change.
Most importantly, you enjoy creating great experiences for people and want to help make Genoa a place where employees feel connected and enjoy coming to work.
What You’ll Get
- Competitive compensation package
- Comprehensive health insurance and Employee & Family Assistance Program
- Generous paid time off
- Wellness initiatives and programs
- Recognition and rewards
- Volunteer and community engagement opportunities
- Training and development opportunities
- Team-building and company-wide social events
