It owns a broad range of leading branded specialty food businesses with manufacturing and distribution facilities located across Canada and the US. In addition, the Company owns proprietary food distribution and wholesale networks through which it sells both its own products and those of third parties.
About the role:
Based at the Corporate Head Office, the ESG Analyst is a key member of the Corporate ESG team and plays an important role in supporting the Company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting and disclosure activities.
This role has a solid analytical focus and is well suited to someone who enjoys working with data, identifying trends and inconsistencies, and translating information into clear, meaningful insights. While interest in ESG and sustainability is important, success in this position depends on solid analytical skills and comfort working with complex datasets in a fast‑paced, evolving reporting environment.
This is an on-site position based at the Company’s Corporate Head Office in Richmond, B.C. Remote work is not available for this role, and candidates must be able to work from the Richmond office on a full-time basis.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The ESG Analyst will support corporate ESG reporting through hands‑on analysis, coordination, and process improvement, including:
- Supporting internal and external ESG reporting processes, including consolidation and analysis of ESG data collected from multiple business units.
- Reviewing submissions for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness, and following up with internal stakeholders to clarify or resolve data issues.
- Conducting variance analysis and assisting with interpretation of changes and trends in ESG metrics.
- Preparing clear summaries, tables,
and supporting commentary for management review and public disclosures.
- Contributing to the development of the Company’s annual ESG Report, including compilation of data, drafting support, and coordination of inputs.
- Assisting in the ongoing development and refinement of ESG metrics, templates, and reporting processes.
- Supporting training and education for business contacts on ESG data collection tools, templates, and expected standards.
Experience and Technical Skills
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., business, commerce, accounting, sustainability, environmental studies, or a related field).
· 2+ years of professional experience in an analytical or reporting‑focused role.
· Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated experience working with datasets from multiple sources.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data consolidation, analysis, and use of structured templates.
· Ability to clearly explain data, trends, and variances in both written and verbal form.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Assets:
· Familiarity with ESG frameworks, standards, or disclosure requirements (e.g., GRI, SASB, ISSB, TCFD).
· Experience using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support data analysis, research, reporting, process improvement, or other professional workflows.
· Experience with environmental and/or climate-related risk analysis, such as physical climate risk, transition risk, scenario analysis, environmental risk assessments, or related analytical work.
· Experience supporting ESG, sustainability, or non‑financial reporting processes.
· Exposure to GHG inventories or environmental data analysis.
· Experience working in large, decentralized organizations with multiple reporting entities.
