Mille Restaurant & Cafe is looking for a highly connected, outgoing, experienced sales-driven, Events & Business Development Manager to grow and manage our Private Dining, Corporate Events, & Special Events.

This is not just an event coordinator position.

Pay rate will additionally include a 2% bonus of net sales of any contract event.

We are looking for someone who knows Calgary, understands hospitality, ideally has strong relationships within the downtown business community and is comfortable getting out of the restaurant, meeting people, building relationships and actively bringing new business to Mille.

The Role

You will be responsible for both generating new event business and managing the events you book, including

- Actively prospecting for new corporate and private event clients
- Building relationships with Calgary businesses, offices, hotels, organizations and event planners
- Networking witin the downtown Calgary business community
- Coordinating outside sales calls and in-person visits.
- Developing relationships with executive assistants, office managers, HR teams, corporate event planners and decision makers.
- Promoting private dining,



corporate lunches, cocktail receptions, holiday parties and special events
- Preparing proposals, and event packages.
- Managing events from initial enquiry thru execution.
- Coordinating with culinary management.

Requirements

- Has established relationships within Calgary's downtown corporate community.
- Has proven experience in event sales, business development or corporate events.
- Excellent negotiation abilities coupled with effective communication.
- Is comfortable walking into businesses, introducing themselves, and creating relationships
- Has a strong professional network in Calgary
- Prior experience in restaurant or hospitality, highly desirable to understand industry-specific nuances.
