Position Summary A non-profit housing co-operative in Scarborough is seeking an experienced, community-minded Executive Director / Property Manager to provide strong operational leadership, support our staff team and help strengthen our systems and day-to-day housing operations.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director / Property Manager provides overall operational leadership, including staff management, financial and administrative oversight, property and maintenance management, member services, community partnerships and implementation of Board direction.

We are looking for a strong people leader and relationship builder who can develop an effective staff team, create strong operational systems, provide excellent service to a diverse membership and build productive relationships with community organizations and housing-sector partners.

We welcome candidates with strong transferable leadership experience from non-profit housing, property management, community services and other non-profit environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesStaff & Operations

- Lead and supervise the Co-op's administrative, maintenance and cleaning staff, providing clear direction, support, coaching and performance feedback.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure priorities, deadlines and Board directives are effectively followed through.

Property & Maintenance

- Oversee maintenance, repairs, emergencies, inspections, preventive maintenance and overall property standards.
- Coordinate contractors, trades and service providers and ensure work is completed effectively and cost-efficiently.

Financial & Administrative Management





- Work with the Board on operating and capital budgets and provide regular financial and operational reporting.
- Oversee housing charges, arrears, RGI/subsidy administration, invoices, payments, records and office systems, ensuring required corporate, financial and housing-sector reporting is accurate and completed on time.

Members & Community

- Ensure excellent, respectful and responsive service to the Co-op's diverse membership, including effective management of member concerns, communications and occupancy matters.
- Support vulnerable members by connecting them with appropriate community services and resources and develop productive relationships with community organizations and partners.
- Support Co-op meetings, events and community-building initiatives.

Board & Governance

- Implement Board decisions, policies and directives and provide the Board with timely information, reports and recommendations.
- Support effective governance, including Board and member meetings, administration of the Co-op's bylaws and policies, and relationships with legal counsel, insurers, government agencies and housing-sector partners.

Overall Accountability

- Ensure Co-op operations are well organized, appropriately documented and compliant, while identifying significant financial, staffing, property or operational matters requiring Board attention.
- Maintain confidentiality,



exercise sound qualified judgment and ensure operational matters are followed through to completion.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Relevant leadership experience in non-profit, housing, property management, community services or a related environment.
- Demonstrated experience supervising and developing staff, including setting expectations, providing feedback and addressing performance concerns.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent service to diverse communities and effectively manage sensitive or challenging situations.
- Experience building productive relationships with community organizations, agencies and other stakeholders.
- Strong operational, organizational and financial-management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and ensure follow-through.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively with a volunteer Board of Directors, staff and community members.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

- Experience in non-profit or co-operative housing and/or residential property management.
- Knowledge of co-operative governance and Ontario's non-profit housing sector.
- Experience with RGI/subsidy administration, arrears and housing financial processes.
- Familiarity with housing-sector organizations such as CHF Canada, CHF Toronto and the Agency for Co-operative Housing.

Working Requirements This is a full-time, on-site leadership position in Scarborough, Ontario.

Some evening and weekend availability is required for Board and member meetings, community events, emergencies and other operational requirements.

Pay: $55,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
