Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Family Lawyer.

The Family

Lawyer will manage a caseload involving separation, divorce, parenting time, decision-making responsibility, child support, spousal support, and property division. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with clients, providing legal advice, drafting agreements and court documents, conducting legal research, and negotiating settlements. The role also involves representing clients in mediation and collaborative law processes,



and appearing before the Family Court when necessary. The lawyer will work closely with colleagues and support staff, maintain organized files, track deadlines, and adhere to professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications

- Strong family law knowledge and experience handling separation, divorce, parenting, support, and property matters.
- Proficiency in legal research, analysis, and interpretation of family law statutes and case law.
- Skilled in drafting clear, accurate legal documents, including agreements, pleadings, and court materials.
- Effective negotiation, mediation, and collaborative practice skills to resolve matters outside of court.
- Excellent client communication, active listening, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to manage a remote practice, including time management, file organization, and use of legal technology.
- Licensed lawyer in good standing with the relevant law society or bar; experience in family court proceedings is an asset.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and commitment to client-centered, non-discriminatory service.
