The Opportunity
We are looking for a Field Coordinator to join our site teams. Reporting to the General Manager of Construction and taking day-to-day direction from the Project Manager and Site Superintendent, you will help deliver multi-family projects from pre-mobilization through close-out and turnover.
Paragon builds using Lean Construction, the Last Planner System, and Takt Planning, supported by inTAKT and Procore. Very few builders in this market run that system. You will be trained in it, you will help run it every day, and you will carry that experience with you for the rest of your career.
What You Will Be Doing
Project Start-Up and Planning
- Participate in pre-mobilization planning and review the construction documents before start-up.
- Attend Milestone and Phase Pull Planning, and help set zone maps, trade sequence, and handoff criteria.
- Set the project up in Procore and inTAKT so records are accurate from day one.
Scheduling, Lean Construction, and Takt Planning
- Maintain the constraint log with owners and dates, and help remove roadblocks ahead of the work.
- Prepare the Weekly Work Plan from the Takt schedule in inTAKT, with tasks and crews by zone.
- Issue the Weekly Work Plan recap, listing commitments, owners, and deadlines.
- Attend the morning Daily Huddle and complete the Procore Daily Log.
- Walk the site each afternoon with the Site Superintendent, updating inTAKT in real time.
- Compile Percent Plan Complete weekly, classify variances, and track corrective actions.
- Coordinate deliveries, inspections, and site access to match the Takt zone sequence.
Design Coordination and Project Documentation
- Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), site clarifications, and proposed changes to the Work.
- Coordinate shop drawings and submittals with consultants and subcontractors, and monitor lead times.
- Review drawings and specifications with subcontractors to settle sequencing before work starts.
- Manage document control, change orders, and project records in Procore.
Procurement and Cost Control
- Prepare purchase orders, obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations, and assist with estimates.
- Support the Project Manager with invoice review and project cost tracking.
- Handle financial transactions and confidential information with accuracy and discretion.
Quality Assurance and Safety
- Support Quality Assurance and Quality Control, documenting deficiencies and tracking corrections.
- Verify quality and inspections are complete before each subcontractor handoff.
- Schedule and record third party and authority inspections.
- Support health and safety standards under the Paragon Living Health & Safety Manual.
- Record safety observations and near misses, and stop work if conditions are unsafe.
Close-Out and Turnover
- Assist with permit close-out documentation, commissioning, deficiency management, and turnover.
- Compile the close-out package and transfer building knowledge to Property Management.
- Support warranty documentation and callback tracking following turnover.

- A post-secondary diploma or degree in construction management, engineering technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two or more years of site-based construction experience, and the ability to read drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Multi-family residential experience is an asset.
- Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities on an active site.
- Clear, concise, and timely communication, and the confidence to hold subcontractors to their commitments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Procore or Bluebeam Revu is an asset.
- Exposure to Lean Construction, the Last Planner System, or Takt Planning is an asset. Formal training is provided.
- A valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Working Conditions This is a full-time, in-person, permanent position based primarily at active construction sites in Winnipeg and the surrounding area, with periodic attendance at our Oak Bluff head office. Personal protective equipment and an early start for the morning Daily Huddle are required.
