The company supports major Canadian Class 1 railroads as well as short line and contractor customers, offering new, rebuilt, and used machine/parts sales, operator and mechanic training, equipment inspections, and fleet evaluations. WPI Railroad Services serves as Encore’s exclusive field service representative for Canada, focusing on equipment parts, service, and training.

WPI Railroad Services is also the sales and service representative for MOW (Maintenance-of-Way) equipment solutions, supplying products such as rail lifters, spike pullers, and spikers, along with parts that support the rail industry.

Role Description

 This is a full-time, Field Service/Sales Representative role based in Calgary, AB.

The Field

Service/Sales Representative will visit customer locations to perform equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting, and coordination of service work for MOW equipment and related parts. The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with Class 1 railroads, short lines, and contractors, identifying customer needs, and recommending appropriate equipment, parts, and training solutions. The representative will support sales activities through site visits, product demonstrations, and follow-up on inquiries, while ensuring timely communication between customers, WPI Railroad Services, MOW, and Encore. Daily responsibilities also include preparing service and sales documentation,



maintaining accurate records in internal systems, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance customer support.

- Position is 60-70% travel across Canada and the US.
- Accepted candidate will be paid Salary plus yearly incentives.

- Weekends and nights will be required periodically depending on customers needs.

Qualifications

- Customer service, relationship-building, and client communication skills to support sales and field service activities.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills related to heavy equipment or MOW machinery, including comfort working around railway equipment.
- Organizational, time management, and documentation skills for scheduling site visits, maintaining records, and preparing reports.
- Ability to travel, work in office at rail yards or customer facilities, and adapt to outdoor and industrial environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present product information and training content clearly.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; ability to meet safety and compliance requirements in rail environments.
- Previous experience in rail, heavy equipment, industrial service, or a related field is an asset; technical or trade background is beneficial.
- Valid Canadian Passport is mandatory.
- Clean criminal record
- Clear, proficient English. French or Bi-lingual French would be a bonus.
- Candidates that meet or exceed the qualifications can live in Western Canada, or Eastern Canada and work remotely.
