Role Description The Field Technician role at CORE Environmental is a contract, on-site position based in Edmonton, AB. In this role, the Field Technician conducts field sampling, site inspections, and environmental monitoring in support of remediation and waste reduction projects. Day-to-day tasks may include collecting soil, water, and air samples, operating field equipment, and recording accurate data and observations.

The Field

Technician collaborates with project managers and engineers, follows health and safety protocols, and assists in preparing field reports and documentation.



The role requires working outdoors in varying conditions, traveling to project sites as needed, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism when interacting with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

- Ability to perform fieldwork, including environmental sampling, site inspections, and equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail, with skills in data collection, record-keeping, and basic report preparation.
- Understanding of environmental science principles, remediation practices, and waste management concepts.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance, including following site-specific safety procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather, lift and carry field equipment, and travel to remote or active work sites.
- Relevant post-secondary education or training in environmental science, engineering technology, or a related field is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; previous field or construction site experience is considered an advantage.
