In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Payable, the Finance Applications Coordinator-Accounts Payable is expected to fully support Island Health's Materiel Management systems, the linkage to the Accounts Payable systems, and the Procurement Card program.
The Application
Coordinator sets up and maintains all application tables and dictionaries associated with the applications and will also be a key resource on behalf of new initiatives such as upgrades and migrations of these systems and related training.

Coordinator ensures the integrity and consistency of the information reports and ensures the timely generation of reports and data transfers.

Coordinator develops, recommends and implements policies and procedures pertaining to the business systems required to support the implementation of a recent or updated systems application.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
A level of education,
training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and successful completion of a recognized Information Systems program with a minimum five (5) years' recent related experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Experience in Materiel Management, Finance and/or Electronic Document Management considered an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contract law, automated purchasing systems, inventory control methods, product distribution and supply chain management, e-business application and e-commerce, electronic document management and electronic document distribution, and general accounting principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use personal computer and use MS office suite of programs.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all levels of staff, external agencies and business community.
- Ability to organize workload and work independently.
- Ability to apply a strong sense of teamwork and principles of team building.
- Ability to demonstrate good decision making /problem solving.
- Ability to demonstrate strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with short time frames.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Advanced Medical Systems and Meditech Material Management Systems.
