Compensation: $50,000 – $150,000 per year (commission-based with performance incentives) Location: In person, St. Albert and surrounding areas

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
- No work from home available

Main Purpose of the Job: To lead and manage all financial operations of the dealership, ensuring profitability, compliance, and operational excellence. This role oversees the finance office and supervises Junior Finance.

Responsibilities include optimizing deal structures, ensuring accurate and timely contract funding, liaising with financial institutions, maintaining lender relationships, and ensuring compliance with AMVIC and internal policies. The role also supports driving revenue through creative financing strategies and works closely with the General Manager to achieve branch-level financial goals while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Oversee the full finance office operation, including deal structuring, lender submissions, and contract funding.
- Provide strategic direction and daily operational leadership to the Junior Finance.
- Act as the final escalation point for complex finance-related concerns from customers, staff, or third-party partners.
- Ensure all finance activities align with organizational objectives, customer satisfaction standards,



and long-term profitability goals.
- Ensure all deals are compliant with AMVIC, CRA, as well as AIC and lender requirements.
- Set and enforce strict internal controls for document integrity, funding timelines, and reporting accuracy.
- Continuously monitor legal, regulatory, and compliance developments in automotive finance and ensure department alignment.
- Contribute to the development of SOPs and training materials for the finance department.
- Approve and implement SOPs and policies for risk management and audit-readiness.
- Audit finance contracts for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Collaborate with finance team leads to ensure process bottlenecks are removed and funding issues are proactively resolved.
- Maintain strong relationships with lenders and stay updated on rate sheets, program changes, and funding requirements.
- Identify and introduce new lender programs and financial products to keep offerings competitive and customer-centric.
- Train and mentor finance managers and junior finance staff on deal structuring, compliance, and customer engagement.
- Track and report on finance KPIs including gross per deal, funding timelines, and product penetration rates (GAP, warranty, etc.).
- Collaborate with the General Manager to align finance strategies with branch profitability goals.
- Partner with the Junior Finance and General Managers to ensure smooth financing integration across the buyer journey.
- Provide creative financing solutions and overcome credit challenges to support difficult deals.
- Oversee customer communications strategy for financing-related inquiries, approvals, and objection handling.
- Ensure accurate posting of deals in DMS and CRM systems.
- Oversee the proper usage of systems like DealerTrack, CreditApp, DriveSync, and others.
- Monitor system compliance and work with IT/Admin teams to optimize system performance.
- Coordinate with Accounting, Service, and Marketing teams to ensure deals flow properly and vehicle ads, promotions, and revenue recognition are all aligned.
- Resolve finance-related discrepancies and support clean monthly closings with the accounting department.
- Lead weekly cash flow reviews and monthly performance meetings with leadership.




- Maintain a high standard of customer service and handle escalated finance-related customer concerns.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3-5 years of proven experience in Finance and Insurance products
- Deep understanding of automotive financing, lender programs, and deal compliance.
- Business management experience in the automobile industry is a plus
- Effective oral and written skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work through objections in a positive way
- Great on the phone and ability to communicate well through text and email.
- Not afraid to work through difficult deals with customers and lenders.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams.
- Proficiency in dealership systems including Dealertrack, DMS, Drive Sync, and CRM platforms.
- Familiarity with Canadian credit laws, privacy regulations, and tax compliance.
- Experience in both retail and wholesale deal structures is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

- On-site at dealership location with occasional travel to lender meetings or training events.
- Must be available for extended hours during month-end or peak sales periods.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanour at all times.

Physical Requirements:

- Primarily office-based with occasional movement around the dealership.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, screen time, and document handling.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain focus under pressure.

Ideal candidates will bring:

- Experience in automotive sales, finance, or BDC
- Valid driver’s license (mandatory)
- AMVIC license (mandatory)
- Confidence communicating with credit-challenged customers
- Ability to follow a structured process while managing multiple deals
- Coachability, drive, and a focus on long-term results
