We're Hiring!
Twenty32 is proud to be partnering with Uplifter to recruit their next Financial Accountant.
If you're an experienced accounting professional looking to join a collaborative and growing organization, we'd love to hear from you!
See the full job details below.
About the Company: Uplifter is a B2B SaaS and payments platform built for sports clubs and associations. We serve 1,100 clubs across skating, gymnastics, curling and a growing roster of national and provincial sport associations, combining club-management software with integrated payment processing. We operate across Canadian and US entities and are scaling quickly behind a new unified platform that will become the backbone of the business.
Our finance function is moving from reactive bookkeeping to a controlled, automation-first engine. This is a rare opportunity to help build a modern finance operation at early stage.
Role Description: Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant owns the day-to-day accounting mechanics that keep both entities accurate and current: full-cycle bookkeeping, reconciliations across multiple payment processors, AP/AR execution, payroll support, and month-end close support. You will work side by side with the Controller in our office, with real ownership of your areas and a direct hand in shaping how the function scales.
This is a hands-on, frontline role for someone who is genuinely energized by efficiency and technology. Comfort with AI tools (such as Claude) and a drive to automate manual work are central to how this team operates — not a nice-to-have. We expect this role to do more, faster, by working smarter with the tools available.
What you'll do:
BOOKKEEPING & GENERAL LEDGER
- Maintain accurate, timely books in QuickBooks Online across two entities (CAD and USD).
- Prepare and post journal entries (and always have a clear working paper to support them); ensure consistent,
accurate transaction coding across both entities.
- Maintain organized supporting documentation.
RECONCILIATIONS
- Perform bank, credit-card and corporate-card reconciliations on a weekly cadence.
- Reconcile payment-processor payouts and clearing accounts across multiple processors (e.g., Adyen, Paysafe, WorldLine, Stripe).
- Review clearing accounts weekly; identify, flag and resolve anomalies quickly.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE & RECEIVABLE
- Process vendor bills, manage approvals and receipt follow-up, and maintain the AP aging.
- Support invoicing, collections and payment application across SaaS, transaction and payment-fee revenue.
- Help maintain strong AP/AR discipline and supporting controls.
MONTH-END CLOSE
- Support a fast monthly close across both entities, hitting close deadlines reliably.
- Prepare reconciliations, schedules, accruals and deferred-revenue support.
- Assist with intercompany entries and tie-outs between the CAD and US entities.
PAYROLL & CONTRACTOR SUPPORT
- Prepare payroll inputs, validate changes and reconcile post-processing.
- Track contractor payments and related documentation.
SYSTEMS, AUTOMATION & AI
- Operate and help improve the finance tech stack (QBO, billing and revenue-ingestion tools, AP/expense platforms, payroll).
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual workflows, including with AI tools such as Claude.
- Partner with the Controller to build, test and document repeatable SOPs.
PROCESS & DOCUMENTATION
- Hit weekly reconciliation and close cadences; surface issues early rather than at month-end.
- Help build a documented, scalable finance function that can support the company as it grows.
What you'll bring:
- Enrolled in CPA program, at the final stage would be an asset but not a must.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle bookkeeping and month-end close.
- Hands-on QuickBooks Online experience is a must; multi-entity and/or multi-currency exposure is a strong asset.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large transaction datasets.
- Demonstrated comfort with technology and a real interest in using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to work faster and smarter — this is core to the role.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organization, and a bias toward documented, repeatable process.
- Able to work on-site at our Vancouver office 3 days per week, strong at collaborating closely with the Controller and the wider team both in person and remote.
- Clear communicator who flags issues early and thrives in a small, quick-moving team.
Nice to have:
- Experience in SaaS, fintech / payments, or a multi-entity scale-up.
- Exposure to payment processors (Adyen, Paysafe, WorldLine, Stripe) and to SaaS metrics.
- Experience with AP-automation / expense tools (e.g., Ramp, Float) and revenue-ingestion tools.
- Familiarity with Canadian (and maybe US) indirect / sales-tax fundamentals.
Why Uplifter:
- Competitive pay for this position level.
- Employer fully paid extended health benefits.
- A great opportunity to build a modern, automation-first finance function at the early stage.
- Direct mentorship from the Financial Controller, with genuine ownership and a clear growth path. Tons of opportunities to grow.
- Join a company scaling behind a major new platform in the sports-technology space.
