Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Finish Carpenter to join our construction team. This position is specifically geared toward someone who is already highly competent in residential finishing work and can step onto a job site and be productive with minimal direction.

The majority of the work will consist of baseboards, casing, hanging and adjusting doors, window boxes/jamb extensions, built-ins, mantels, MDF shelving and other custom finish carpentry.

This is not an entry-level or training position. We are looking for someone with proven finish carpentry experience who understands how to produce clean, professional work while maintaining an productive pace.

The right candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, understands that both quality and productivity matter, and is comfortable working independently or as part of a crew.

Responsibilities

- Install baseboards, door and window casing, MDF trim and other interior finishing materials
- Hang, adjust and finish interior doors
- Build and install window boxes/jamb extensions
- Construct and install built-ins, mantels, MDF shelving and other custom carpentry
- Complete accurate mitres, returns, joints, reveals and transitions
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings and specifications
- Measure, calculate and lay out work accurately before installation
- Identify and work around out-of-square walls, floors and openings while maintaining a professional finished appearance
- Complete caulking, filling and other finish preparation as required
- Safely and efficiently operate mitre saws, table saws, nailers and other common carpentry tools
- Maintain an organized and productive work area
- Coordinate with supervisors and other trades when required
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship




- Follow company procedures and job-site safety requirements

Experience & Qualifications
- Previous professional finish carpentry experience is required
- Strong experience installing baseboard and casing
- Strong experience hanging and adjusting doors
- Experience building window boxes/jamb extensions
- Experience with built-ins, mantels, MDF shelving and custom finishing work
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints and construction drawings
- Strong understanding of measurements, layout, angles and finish carpentry techniques
- Must be comfortable working independently without requiring constant instruction
- Must be able to troubleshoot site conditions and determine appropriate solutions
- Must consistently produce clean, accurate work
- Must be able to work at a fast and efficient pace without sacrificing quality
- Must be dependable, organized and able to meet project schedules
- Must have experience using standard finish carpentry hand and power tools

What We're Looking For We are not looking to train someone in finish carpentry. Applicants should already have the experience necessary to be given drawings and a scope of work and complete the job properly and efficiently.

We are looking for someone who understands that professional finish carpentry is about more than making something look good — production, accuracy, consistency and attention to detail all matter.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
