The Opportunity
Muskoka Cabinet Company is hiring a Full-time Finishing Operator who will be responsible for staining, finish wood to specific colours, sanding, sorting, etc. Attention to detail is important to ensure that the final product is sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. Product inspections to ensure a defect-free final outcome.
Finishing operators work within a production schedule. Meeting deadlines and maintaining efficiency is important to ensure that the manufacturing process stays on track.

The Role
- $25-30 / hour depending on experience.
- Full health benefit program after successful completion of the 6 months probationary period.
- Paid sick days available after a 6-month probation period.
- Profit Sharing Program available after successful completion of 6 months full time.
- Full Time in person work on site in Alfred, ON.
- On-site training for this position.
- Start date - ASAP.
Responsibilities and duties:

- Efficiently manage the finishing department, balancing administrative duties with hands-on involvement to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality output.
- Optimize resources, ensuring materials, tools, and personnel are used effectively to meet production deadlines and maintain quality standards.
- Stay aligned with the company’s strategic objectives, developing and implementing strategies that contribute to organizational goals, including profit-sharing initiatives.
- Continuously identify and execute process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability within the finishing department.
- Ensure all finished products meet or exceed the company’s quality standards, conducting regular inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
- Maintain compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality regulations, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, such as production and logistics, to coordinate efforts and align finishing processes with overall production schedules.
- Provide regular feedback to team members and report on department performance to upper management, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
The Candidate
- Individuals with the following traits, skills and experiences should apply:
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Able to deal effectively with production.
- Experience with woodworking equipment would be desirable but not essential.
- Electronics education or similar will be an asset.
- Great communication skills; written and verbal.
- Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
- Ability to work & lead in a team environment & individually.
- English speaking, reading, and writing are mandatory.

- 1 60-minute interviews with members of our team.
