Role Summary:
Our Prairies (MB/SK) branch is currently looking for a Fire Technician Helper to join the team working out of our Winnipeg office. The main duties of this job opportunity are to assist Technicians with renovation/installation/service/inspections and/or verifications of fire alarm and other life safety systems installed at our customer sites. We are looking for someone who has a genuine desire to learn, grow, and pursue a career in the Fire Alarm industry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate the control panels during the testing of systems at the direction of the Technician.
- Be comfortable working with hand tools and have an interest in troubleshooting and programming electrical and life safety-related products.
- Report all control panel activity to the Technicians performing the testing.
- Cleaning of control panel as time permits.
- Assist Technician with renovation/installation/service/repairs/testing of Fire product when necessary.
- Liaise with the customers and Technicians regarding the in office testing schedule.
- Maintain and update Inspection/Verification reports.
- Assist Technician in work area clean up and training of end-users.
- Assist with ULC inspections and servicing of systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- Must have a technical aptitude and a strong willingness to learn.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be available for all hours of work, including overtime, evenings, and weekends, as required.
- Must have a desire to pursue a career in or have a general interest in Fire Alarm Technician work.
- Must have a valid clean provincial driver’s license.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work and/or customer job sites.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have recent Trades training in particular in Fire Alarm.

- General computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to work safely and follow company, customer, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Interest in developing technical skills through hands-on training and mentorship.
- The ideal candidate should be working towards or willing to undertake the C.F.A.A Technician certification
