Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Floral Designer role based in Red Deer, AB.

The Floral

Designer will create custom floral designs and arrangements for weddings, events, and retail clients, ensuring each piece reflects Calyx Floral Design’s style and quality standards. Daily responsibilities include selecting and conditioning flowers, designing bouquets and installations, preparing orders, and maintaining an organized, clean, and secure studio and retail environment. The role involves assisting with in-store customer consultations,



managing walk-in and pre-booked orders, and supporting setup and teardown for on-site events and weddings.

The Floral

Designer will work collaboratively with the team to meet production timelines, maintain inventory, and contribute creative ideas for collections, seasonal offerings, and workshops.

Qualifications

- Floral design and flower arrangement skills, including experience with bouquets, centerpieces, installations, and event florals.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to listen, consult, and provide tailored floral recommendations in a professional manner.
- Creativity skills, including a keen eye for color, texture, and composition, and the ability to interpret and execute design briefs.
- Sales skills, including comfort with point-of-sale systems, upselling complementary products, and supporting retail sales goals.
- Previous experience in a floral studio, flower shop, or related design environment is an asset.
- Ability to work on-site, including some evenings, weekends, and event-based hours as required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple orders and deadlines.
- Physical ability to lift and move buckets, boxes, and installations, and to stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for event work and deliveries is considered an advantage.
