Food & Beverage Supervisor
Position Summary The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel's restaurant, banquet facilities, meetings, and special events. This role ensures exceptional guest service, efficient operations, adherence to hotel standards, and the successful execution of all food and beverage functions. The supervisor leads and motivates team members while maintaining high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Restaurant Operations
· Supervise daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and dining experiences.
· Lead front-of-house staff, including servers, bartenders, hosts, and banquet attendants.
· Monitor service standards and guest satisfaction, responding to concerns promptly and professionally.
· Assist with scheduling, training, coaching, and evaluating team members.
· Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed.
· Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering requirements to management.
· Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and liquor regulations.
Meetings & Events Operations
· Coordinate and supervise the setup, execution, and breakdown of meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events.
· Review banquet event orders (BEOs) and ensure event details are communicated effectively to all departments.
· Act as the primary on-site Food & Beverage contact during events.
· Ensure event spaces are prepared according to client specifications and hotel standards.
· Work closely with the Sales & Catering team, culinary team, and hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution.
· Resolve any event-related issues quickly to ensure guest satisfaction.
· Conduct pre-event staff briefings and post-event reviews.
Leadership & Team Management
· Train, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve service excellence.
· Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and guest satisfaction.
· Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
· Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and retaining staff.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and workplace safety standards.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
· Support budget and cost-control initiatives.
· Monitor labor costs and scheduling efficiencies.
· Assist with inventory management and waste reduction.
· Process daily reports, cash reconciliation, and operational documentation as required.
· Identify opportunities to increase food, beverage, and event revenue.
Qualifications
· Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience in hospitality, food and beverage, banquets, or hotel operations.
· Experience managing meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, and special events preferred.
· Solid leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Knowledge of food safety regulations and alcohol service requirements.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Proficient in POS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
· Smart Serve Certification (or local equivalent) required.
· First Aid and Food Handler Certification considered an asset.
· Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

This position is primarily based at DoubleTree by Hilton Kitchener. From time to time, based on operational requirements and in accordance with applicable employment standards, the successful candidate may be required to provide temporary support at the sister property, Home2 Suites by Hilton Kitchener.
This position plays a key role in creating memorable dining experiences and successful events while supporting the hotel's overall service and revenue goals.
