- Tray delivery to units
- Nourishment delivery to patients’ room
- Transportation of patient food carts to and from patient care unit
- Meal service (meal tray assembly)
- Portion hot beverages
- Work in dish room/ cleaning duties
- Clean pots/ collect garbage, sanitize garbage containers, clean up spills
- Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications

- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) an asset.
- Mandatory, valid food handlers’ certificate
- Previous hospital experience working in Nutrition & Food Services an asset
- Ability to work under minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks
- Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Customer service skills essential
- Basic math skills required
- Ability to work as part of a team
- A positive work and attendance record is essential

Language Ability

- Effective verbal/written communication skills in English are essential. This includes the ability to read and write

Physical Demands





- Must have the physical strength to meet requirements of job
- Considerable walking, lifting, standing and bending
- Concentration with attention to detail, especially when working on the patient food service beltline
- Standing for long periods of time in one spot
- Working in both hot and cold temperature environments
