The salary range for this position is CAD $25.82 - $25.82 / hour

Detailed Overview

Under the supervision of the area Supervisor, Manager or designate, the Food Service Worker II - Cold Preparation performs tasks related to the preparation, portioning, assembly, and delivery of foods and beverages; performs related cleaning duties in work area as assigned; works in accordance with established departmental standards and procedures including sanitation and safety practices; participates in the department Quality Improvement Program.

Responsibilities

- Prepares and portions foods such as salads, sandwiches, snacks and beverages following approved methods and standards of food handling and, approved recipes for patient and/or non-patient requirements, according to specifications.

- Prepares and portions foods such as vegetables, fruits and meats by procedures such as panning, grinding, breading following approved methods and standards of food handling.

- Prepares and sets up ingredients, supplies, utensils and equipment according to menu specifications utilizing approved methods and standards.

- Counts, weighs and/or measures foods and ingredients for issuing to other work areas.

- Delivers items to specified locations and retrieves supplies when events are completed.

- Rotates foods in storage in order minimize spoiling as waste,



according to established procedures.

- Maintains food and supply levels according to pre-determined quota/levels; forwards concerns on food and supply requirements/need to requisition for supplies to the supervisor.

- Strips returned carts, washes items such as dishes and utensils.

- Maintains designated work area and related equipment in a clean, sanitary and secure condition according to established methods and standards.

- Performs general cleaning duties as assigned such as sweeping and damp mopping floors, cleaning counter tops, sinks machines and equipment and spot washing walls and splash areas; removes garbage as required.

- Participates in departmental meetings and activities and provides input; attends in-service sessions as required.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and ExperienceGrade 10, plus one (1) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
