Kelowna
Weninger Construction is a family-owned construction company based in Kelowna that has become known for our high end custom projects over the last 35+ years. We do both new builds and renovations, but are most known for designing and building new single-family homes. We are a full-service general contractor that takes on a wide variety of work throughout the Okanagan, but especially up at Big White Ski Resort.
We work hard to create a healthy, positive, and inclusive work environment on all of our sites because we recognize that our team is our biggest asset. This means that finding the right fit for our crew is important, as we invest a lot into training and supporting our team!
Most of Weninger Construction's projects are new builds that we take through every stage of construction, from forming/foundation, to framing, to interior and exterior finishing with much custom detail, so every position with us involves a wide variety of job tasks and responsibilities.
Right now, we are seeking 1 new carpenter to join us for approx. 1-month (3-6 weeks) up at one of our Big White Projects, starting immediately.
This is a full time, temporary position. There is the possibility that it could lead to ongoing or future employment for the right candidate, but at this time is only offered for 1 month. Subcontractors are also welcome to apply. Priority will be given to applicants with more foundation/forming experience.
Starting wage ranges depend on experience and certification:
- Ticketed Carpenters: $29-31/hour base starting wage, + $6/hour additional at Big White, so up to $37/hour starting wage at Big White
- Experienced Carpenters: $26-30/hour base starting wage,
+ $6/hour additional at Big White, so up to $36/hour starting wage at Big White
- Apprentice Carpenters: $23-27/hour base starting wage, + $6/hour additional at Big White, so up to $33/hour starting wage at Big White
- As noted, all positions come with that additional $6/hour on top of those base wage ranges when working at Big White, where this temporary position will be working
