About Moatira

Moatira is an early-stage software company building AI-powered research and decision-support tools for long-term investors.

We are looking for a Founding Software Engineer to join the core team and help build the product from an early stage.

The Role

You will work directly with the founder and take significant ownership of product development and technical implementation.

This is a hands-on, full-stack role. You should be comfortable working across frontend, backend, databases, AI integration, and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

- Build and ship end-to-end product features.
- Develop frontend and backend systems using modern web technologies.
- Design APIs, data models, and PostgreSQL-based services.
- Integrate LLMs and AI capabilities into production applications.
- Build reliable AI workflows, structured outputs, and validation mechanisms.
- Integrate cloud services, including workflow/orchestration platforms, serverless functions, managed databases, storage, queues, and observability tools.
- Evaluate when to build infrastructure internally versus using managed cloud services.
- Write maintainable, well-tested production code.
- Use modern AI coding tools to improve development speed and quality.
- Contribute to product and technical architecture decisions.

What We're Looking For

Required

- Strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Strong TypeScript / JavaScript skills.
- Experience with React and modern full-stack web development.
- Backend, API, SQL,



and relational database experience.
- Experience building and deploying production software.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs and AI application development.
- Familiarity with modern cloud platforms, managed services, and serverless architectures.
- Ability to independently take a feature from idea to production.
- Ability to learn and evaluate new technologies quickly.
- Pragmatic engineering judgment and an ability to avoid unnecessary complexity.

Nice to Have

- Experience with Next.js, PostgreSQL, Supabase, or similar technologies.
- Experience with AI agents, structured LLM outputs, evaluation, or orchestration.
- Experience with workflow platforms such as Vercel Workflow, AWS Step Functions, Temporal, or similar tools.
- Experience with financial data or fintech applications.
- Knowledge of investing, equity research, or financial markets.

Who This Role Is For We are looking for a builder, not a narrowly specialized engineer.

You should enjoy working in an early-stage environment, solving ambiguous problems, learning recent technologies quickly, and taking ownership across the stack.

Competitive salary based on experience.
