Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and driven Working Framing Foreman / Crew Lead to manage and elevate our field-level structural operations. This is a fully team-oriented, working leadership role. The successful candidate will remain actively engaged in daily physical construction activities while simultaneously providing site supervision, layout execution, and operational oversight for a crew of carpentry professionals and apprentices.

The ideal candidate will seamlessly translate sophisticated architectural designs into precise structural frameworks, manage daily productivity metrics, ensure strict quality control, and maintain project schedules across both custom home and multi-family construction portfolios.

Core Responsibilities

- Operational Leadership & Execution: Actively engage in daily framing, assembly, and installation processes—including floors, structural walls, engineered beams, and complex roof systems—setting a high benchmark for production speed and accuracy.
- Layout & Plan Interpretation: Read, interpret, and cross-reference complex blueprints, engineered drawings, and architectural specifications to execute exact site layouts.
- Personnel Management: Supervise, mentor, and delegate daily tasks to a crew of 3–5 framing carpenters and apprentices, optimizing field efficiency and labor workflows.




- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all structural assemblies strictly comply with the Ontario Building Code (OBC), municipal regulations, and corporate quality standards prior to engineering and municipal inspections.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate proactively with Project Managers and site supers to report project milestones, resolve structural challenges in real-time, and manage material inventories.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain rigorous oversight of occupational health and safety regulations, executing daily safety huddles and enforcing compliance with Ministry of Labour and Working at Heights guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of skilled residential wood-framing experience, with a proven track record of 1–2 years in a supervisory or crew lead capacity. Specific experience within multi-family developments or low-rise apartment builds is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced competency in plan-reading, structural geometry, and construction mathematics.
- Regulatory Expertise: Deep working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) regarding Part 9 structural wood-frame guidelines.
- Credentials: Valid Working at Heights certification is mandatory. Standard First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.
- Logistics & Mobility: Valid Ontario Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation to commute daily to local Greater Sudbury jobsites
- Tools: Essential framing power tools and specialized equipment are provided by the company; candidates are only required to bring standard personal hand tools/pouch.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to perform physically demanding labor, operate standard industrial tools safely, and work outdoors in all seasonal Northern Ontario weather conditions.

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
