Aquent is partnering with a leading Canadian retailer to identify an experienced Graphic Designer to support high-volume eCommerce and digital marketing creative. This contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on designer who knows how to translate marketing direction into polished emails, homepage creative, banners, and promotional assets while working quickly and accurately within an established brand.
You’ll join a collaborative marketing and creative environment where strong execution, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deliverables are just as important as great visual design.
What You’ll Do
- Design and produce customer-facing digital and eCommerce creative, including emails, homepage assets, banners, promotional graphics, and related campaign materials.
- Translate marketing briefs, copy, photography, and campaign direction into polished, accurate layouts.
- Participate in project pickup and kickoff conversations to understand creative requirements, timelines, deliverables, and marketing objectives.
- Ask questions and proactively resolve missing or conflicting information before beginning production.
- Create and revise layouts in Figma while ensuring work follows established creative and brand guidelines.
- Work with product photography, copy, typography, and graphic elements to create clear, engaging promotional creative.
- Adapt approved creative across multiple sizes, formats, channels, and campaign requirements.
- Incorporate stakeholder feedback and complete revisions accurately and efficiently.
- Support additional campaign materials such as flyers, catalogues,
booklets, and other promotional assets as required.
- Prepare finished graphic elements and support English and French creative versions when needed.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-moving retail marketing environment.
- Ensure final creative meets technical, production, and quality standards.
What You’ll Bring
- 4+ years of professional graphic or digital design experience.
- Robust hands-on experience designing for eCommerce and digital marketing channels.
- A portfolio demonstrating work across assets such as email, homepage creative, web banners, landing pages, or comparable digital campaign experiences.
- Strong proficiency with Figma and experience using it for hands-on design and production.
- Proficiency with relevant Adobe Creative Suite tools, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Strong layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and image-composition skills.
- Experience taking creative or marketing direction and translating it into finished design.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, revisions, and deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, production-ready work.
- Comfortable collaborating with marketing, creative, production, and other cross-functional partners.
- Ability to receive feedback, adapt quickly, and keep projects moving.
Nice to Have
- Previous retail, eCommerce, DTC, consumer-brand, or agency experience.
- Experience designing high-volume promotional or seasonal campaigns.
- Motion design experience.
- Experience with After Effects or comparable motion tools.
- Experience adapting campaigns across both digital and print channels.
- Experience supporting bilingual English/French creative production.
Why Apply?
- Highly visible creative work: Design customer-facing digital campaigns and eCommerce assets for a major Canadian retail organization.
- Broad creative exposure: Work across email, homepage, banners, promotional campaigns, and additional marketing channels rather than being limited to a single asset type.
- Hands-on design: This is an opportunity to stay close to the creative work and own execution rather than moving away from design into management.
- Primarily remote: The role is Toronto-based and expected to work primarily remotely, with occasional in-office needs.
- Extension potential: The initial contract is expected to run through December 31, with potential to continue based on business needs and performance.
Other Requirements Length: Contract would be through the end of 2026, with potential to keep on for longer based on performance Hours: Up to 37.5/week but not guaranteed Location: Toronto (Remote with occasional in-office 1-2/week)
