Responsibilities
- Stock and replenish fresh produce displays efficiently, ensuring all items are appealing and properly labeled
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce area, including cleaning shelves, bins, and workstations
- Assist customers with their inquiries, providing friendly and knowledgeable service to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks safely when handling large or heavy produce shipments
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging produce attractively and following planograms or promotional displays
- Conduct regular quality checks on produce to identify freshness, damage or spoilage, removing items as needed
- Handle cashiering duties accurately at checkout stations, processing transactions efficiently while maintaining excellent customer relations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for working with people is essential
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is a plus but training can be provided
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers in bilingual environments if applicable
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and maintaining cleanliness standards within a retail setting
- Organizational skills to manage stock levels, keep the area tidy, and follow safety procedures
- Willingness to perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning equipment or workspaces regularly
