Pay: $21.00- $23.00 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the direction of company management, the Shift Supervisor is a senior member of the security team responsible for ensuring security resources are properly deployed, supervised, and managed.

The Supervisor will oversee Security Guards, ensure compliance with company and client policies, maintain high standards of service, assist with daily site operations, and act as a liaison between the client, Security Guards, and Executek International management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supervise and manage the work performed by Security Guards and take appropriate action to enforce safety requirements, company policies, and site procedures.
- Set up and maintain patrol schedules and ensure security resources are properly deployed throughout the shift.
- Act as a professional liaison between the client, Security Guards, and Executek International head office.
- Assist the client with day-to-day activities and security-related requirements.
- Supervise, coach, and support security personnel to ensure all staff are properly uniformed, equipped, and prepared prior to commencing their duties.
- Monitor employee attendance, performance, conduct, and compliance with site procedures.
- Assist with coordinating and conducting in-service, refresher, and site-specific training.
- Train new Security Guards regarding site protocols, company policies, safety procedures, and client expectations.
- Review and critique Security Guard Incident Reports to ensure reports are complete, accurate, professional, and consistent with Standing Orders.
- Complete and submit detailed Incident Reports in a timely manner and ensure required reports are distributed appropriately.
- Identify security awareness deficiencies and communicate concerns to appropriate management.




- Complete all training documentation when assigned a trainee and conduct required monthly follow-ups and additional training as necessary.
- Assist with investigations and determine appropriate problem-solving approaches involving access control, trespassing, safety concerns, and other security-related matters.
- Control access to the client site or facility through approved access control and security systems.
- Respond to emergency situations and calls for service in accordance with site procedures.
- Ensure Security Guards are performing patrols, access control, customer service, and other assigned duties in accordance with site requirements.
- Identify and report unsafe working conditions, hazards, security deficiencies, and policy violations.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and administrative documentation.
- Operate security equipment, computers, radios, telephones, and other site-specific systems.
- Maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with clients, employees, visitors, contractors, and members of the public.
- Perform other security and supervisory duties as assigned by company management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence required.
- Minimum 2 years of security industry experience required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a security supervision or management capacity is an asset.
- Proven experience supervising security personnel and/or security functions.
- Previous experience with incident reporting and report writing required.
- Certificate or education in Law & Security Administration, Police Foundations, Emergency Management, or other relevant post-secondary education is an asset.
- Previous experience working in a university, institutional, commercial, or high-profile security environment is an asset.

- Robust report-writing, administrative, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other security-related applications.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and shifting operational requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain professional, calm, and composed in stressful or emergency situations.




- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop Security Guards.
- Strong knowledge of security procedures, access control, patrol operations, emergency response, and incident management.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to consistently demonstrate initiative.
- Skilled appearance and conduct at all times.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.

- Possess a valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of security experience.
- Have previous supervisory experience in the security industry, preferably in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Have strong report-writing and documentation skills.
- Are flexible and able to work afternoons, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays when operationally required.
- Are legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Can provide quality customer service while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
- Are able to handle routine, difficult, and crisis situations efficiently and effectively.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, accountability, and teamwork.
- Are reliable, punctual, alert, and physically capable of performing the duties of the position.

SCHEDULE

Monday to Friday: 0800–1600

Additional flexibility may be required based on operational needs, special events, emergencies, training, or management requirements.
