Full Stack Engineer — New Project
We’re a consumer business and are searching for a versatile technical leader to own the development of new products. You’ll join at the earliest stage, working alongside company leadership to turn an initial idea concept into a secure, intuitive product. You’ll have significant influence over the technology stack, system design, user experience, vendor selection, and development priorities.
Some of the platform’s core capabilities will be supported by specialized technology providers. Your role will be to connect those systems, build the custom functionality surrounding them, and ensure the complete product operates as one cohesive experience.
Build the core platform
- Design the platform’s data models, services, and backend infrastructure
- Develop a up-to-date, intuitive web / mobile application optimized for consumer use
- Create secure registration, login, account-management, and identity-verification experiences
Develop the infrastructure
- Develop reconciliation processes that keep internal records aligned with external providers
- Protect the integrity, security, and consistency of customer data
Own external integrations
- Review and understand the technical capabilities of prospective vendors
- Integrate APIs, SDKs, webhooks, and externally hosted services
- Determine which capabilities should be developed internally and which can be provided by partners
- Account for outages, delayed responses, duplicate events, and other integration failure scenarios
- Work directly with vendor engineering teams to resolve issues and improve reliability
Support the wider operation
- Build administrative interfaces for customer service, finance, compliance, and risk teams
- Implement product analytics, operational reporting, and performance tracking
- Collaborate with leadership on feature definition and launch priorities
- Use customer behaviour and commercial objectives to guide product improvements
- Make front end decisions
What You Bring
- Meaningful experience as a senior full-stack engineer, lead engineer, technical founder, or early-stage product engineer
- A track record of taking consumer-facing software from an early concept into production
- Deep knowledge of backend development, relational databases, application architecture, and API design
- Practical experience integrating complex third-party systems
- Previous exposure to payment processing, digital balances, deposits, payouts, wallets, or comparable transactional functionality
- An understanding of ledger design, reconciliation, webhooks, idempotency, and transaction lifecycles
- Familiarity with identity verification, payment risk, fraud controls, disputes, and chargebacks
- Good judgment around application security, access controls, privacy,
and sensitive customer information
- The ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information and evolving requirements
Experience building products in fintech, marketplaces, gaming, digital commerce, loyalty, rewards, or another high-volume consumer category would be particularly valuable.
How You Work
You combine engineering ability with strong product and commercial instincts. You care about the customer journey, but you also understand what must happen behind the interface for the business to operate effectively.
On any given day, you may be:
- Mapping a new customer journey
- Structuring a database
- Reviewing an API specification
- Refining an interface
- Discussing how a feature could affect conversion, retention, risk, or profitability
You don’t require every task to arrive as a detailed technical specification. You can clarify the objective, identify the dependencies, recommend an approach, and take responsibility for delivering the result.
Why Join
This is an opportunity to shape a platform at its foundation rather than inherit decisions made years earlier. You’ll have direct access to decision-makers, substantial autonomy, and the ability to influence both the product and the company’s technical direction. We’re looking for someone who wants to own a product—not simply contribute code to one. To apply, please share a short introduction describing the products you’ve helped launch, the systems you personally owned, and any relevant examples of your work.
