This permanent full-time position involves planning, organizing, and leading the engineering team, along with managing the review process for development proposals. Work autonomously while consulting the Director of Planning & Development on significant matters. Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and direct Development Engineering Section's activities
- Evaluate and approve development proposals with independent judgment
- Ensure compliance with engineering regulations and practices
- Liaise with various departments and project stakeholders
- Foster innovative engineering approaches for effective city planning Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related area
- Minimum of 5 years experience in engineering roles
- Proven track record in management and supervision
- Eligibility for skilled engineering certification required
- Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License Lead the Development Engineering efforts to shape Nanaimo's future.
