Edmonton Weight Management Centre & Family Practice is looking for a professional, compassionate, organized, and dependable Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and welcoming manner
- Willing to work Monday-Thursday 8-4, Friday 8-3:15.
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls and patient inquiries
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Check patients in and out
- Complete patient registration and demographic updates
- Obtain and document patient vital signs
- Room patients and prepare them for physician appointments
- Scan, upload, and accurately index medical documents
- Manage incoming and outgoing referrals and medical correspondence
- Assist physicians and nurses with administrative tasks
- Process forms, requisitions, and other medical documentation
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Manage physician tasks and follow-up items
- Process payments and maintain accurate billing information
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient reception and clinical environment
- Follow clinic policies, privacy requirements, and infection prevention procedures
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other MOA team members
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant is preferred
- Experience working in a medical clinic or family practice is an asset
- Experience with AVA EMR is an asset
- Strong computer and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional telephone manner
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical environment
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
