Location: Greater Toronto Area, Mount Albert and Trent Lakes, Ontario Salary: $50,000 per year Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with paid lunch Job Type: Full-time, permanent Start Date: As soon as possible

We are seeking a reliable, practical and highly organized Personal and Property Assistant to provide hands-on support to a private individual and, occasionally, members of the family.

This is a varied, active position involving significant driving, household assistance, property upkeep, errands and occasional overnight stays at a cottage in Trent Lakes. It is best suited to someone who is flexible, trustworthy, comfortable taking initiative and willing to help wherever reasonably needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive the employer and occasionally family members to appointments, meetings, shopping, airports, social engagements and other destinations
- Wait during appointments and provide return transportation
- Travel among properties in the GTA, Mount Albert and Trent Lakes
- Run errands, including grocery shopping, prescription and meal pickup, returns, packages and other household purchases
- Transport supplies and household items between properties and storage locations
- Arrange vehicle detailing for the employer and occasionally family members
- Purchase groceries and keep household and cottage supplies stocked
- Perform light cooking and meal preparation
- Complete general household cleaning, laundry, and waste disposal
- Receive deliveries and provide property access to contractors and service providers
- Organize, garages, storage spaces and household supplies
- Assist with preparations for guests and gatherings
- Clean and prepare the Trent Lakes cottage before and after visits
- Take cottage garbage and recycling to the appropriate disposal facility
- Perform general outdoor work, including lawn care, watering, gardening, raking, leaf removal, light salting and cleaning outdoor areas




- Assist with seasonal cottage preparation as needed
- Set up, clean and store outdoor furniture and equipment
- Check properties for damage, leaks, pests and maintenance concerns
- Complete minor repairs and other basic handyman tasks
- Safely use basic tools, lawn equipment and other property equipment
- Schedule contractors, meet tradespeople and help confirm that work has been completed
- Keep track of household supplies, equipment, receipts, invoices and warranties
- Make reservations and travel arrangements
- Make calls and follow up with businesses and service providers
- Maintain task lists and provide clear updates
- Communicate professionally with family members, contractors and household staff
- Handle personal and household information with discretion and confidentiality

Travel and Overnight Requirements Regular driving is an important part of this position. A vehicle and paid cellphone will be provided. Approved work-related fuel, parking, Highway 407 charges and travel expenses will be covered.

Occasional overnight stays at the Trent Lakes cottage will be required, generally approximately one or two times per month, although frequency may vary. Cottage visits will normally be arranged several days in advance. Private sleeping accommodations will be provided, and the employee may eat the food available at the cottage. Weekend stays would be discussed and agreed upon in advance.

Occasional availability outside regular working hours may be required for urgent or time-sensitive matters.



Additional working time will be arranged and handled in accordance with applicable employment standards.

Qualifications

- Minimum two years of relevant experience in personal assistance, household support, property maintenance, skilled driving, hospitality or a comparable hands-on position
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence
- Safe driving history and satisfactory driver’s abstract
- Comfortable driving throughout Toronto, on highways and in rural areas
- Able and willing to travel regularly to Mount Albert, Trent Lakes and Scarborough
- Comfortable staying overnight at the cottage when required
- Strong organizational, communication and time-management skills
- Dependable, punctual and responsive
- Able to work independently, identify what needs attention and follow tasks through to completion
- Comfortable performing household cleaning, outdoor work and minor repairs
- Able to safely lift and carry ordinary groceries, supplies and household items
- Comfortable using basic tools and property-maintenance equipment
- Professional, respectful and discreet
- Practical maintenance or handyman experience is preferred
- Employment will be conditional upon satisfactory reference, driver’s abstract and background checks

Compensation and Benefits
- $50,000 annual salary
