Role: GE APM-Technical Lead

Location – Calgary, Canada - Remote

Contract

- Develop and maintain a deep technical understanding of the portfolio: key systems, integrations, architecture, business stakeholders and the business processes they support.
- Own application sustainment end to end, covering incident and problem management, root cause analysis, change and release management, patching and lifecycle upgrades, and hold our outsourced support partners to the same change discipline we hold ourselves to.
- Work within the integrated DevOps Pod team and across Digital Solutions and Support (Field), Digital Solutions and Support (Corporate), Enterprise Date, Cyber and Cloud teams using agile, Product Model and waterfall frameworks, partnering with Technical Integration and Solution Architecture, software vendors and business stakeholders on roadmaps, lifecycle strategies and upgrades, including the GE APM upgrade program.
- Engage Product Owners and SMEs to define and document functional and non-functional requirements, and provide Pod and offshore leadership from functional design through deployment and break-fix.
- Move the portfolio from supported to optimized, improving system efficiency, data quality and reliability through automation, consolidation and simplification, and support disaster recovery testing, security, compliance and audit evidence requirements for the applications you own.
- Provide credible backup coverage for any analyst role on the team: cross-train, document what you know, and carry enough working knowledge of adjacent portfolios.

We'd like to review your application if you have… Must-haves (minimum requirements):

- A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration with a focus on Information Technology, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in technical business analysis, application lifecycle management and software implementation,

including demonstrated experience supporting or delivering industrial and operational applications in an asset-intensive environment (reliability, maintenance, inspection, process optimization or plant historian systems)
- Strong analytical, customer relationship and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into application and operational requirements and to resolve vendor and delivery issues internally while presenting a single, accountable D⁢ voice to the business
- Experience directing managed-service or outsourced support partners and holding them accountable for delivery quality, change management and service levels
- Solid problem-solving and organizational skills, an understanding of Agile delivery and of oil and gas business processes and technology, the ability to lead design workshops within an existing solution framework, and a track record of picking up unfamiliar applications quickly enough to back up colleagues
- A proven adaptive work style with the ability to solicit and act on feedback; proficiency in office productivity tools including data analysis; the ability to pass a background check; and alignment with our values of: Safety above all else, Stronger together, Operational discipline, Curiosity and lifelong learning, Act with integrity

Preference for:

- Hands-on experience with GE APM, Enterprise PI (AVEVA) or the Emerson suite (or comparable asset performance, historian, condition monitoring and inspection platforms), and working knowledge of OT and IT integration, including time-series data and the boundary between process control networks and enterprise IT
- Familiarity with predictive and condition-based maintenance, reliability-centred maintenance and risk-based inspection practices
- Experience in a DevOps environment pivoting between operations and projects, and using ServiceNow for incident, problem and change management
- An aspiration toward solution or domain architecture supported by artifacts you have personally produced, and an interest in where data quality, analytics and AI-enabled use cases responsibly add value in this portfolio
