About the Role The Container Guy is looking for a reliable and hardworking Shop / Yard Labourer to join our team.

This is a hands-on position focused primarily on shop and yard operations, container preparation, maintenance, and general labour. The successful candidate will work with shipping containers, tools, equipment, materials, and other products while helping keep our shop and yard safe, clean, and organized.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, is mechanically inclined, comfortable using tools and equipment, and takes pride in doing quality work.

Key ResponsibilitiesShop & Yard Duties

- Perform general shop and yard labour duties.
- Prepare shipping containers for sale, rental, and delivery.
- Paint containers and perform general container touch-ups.
- Clean, repair, and maintain containers as required.
- Install lockboxes, vents, brackets, and other container components.
- Assist with container modifications and general shop projects.
- Perform basic construction, assembly, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Move, organize, and stage containers, materials, products, and equipment.
- Load and unload materials, products, and equipment.
- Assist with receiving and organizing inventory.
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other yard equipment as required.
- Assist with positioning and moving containers around the yard.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and yard.
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of equipment, containers, vehicles, and work areas.
- Follow all company safety procedures and safe work practices.

General Labour & Team Support
- Assist team members with daily shop, yard, and warehouse tasks.
- Help prepare orders and products for customer pickup or delivery.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and trailers.




- Help keep tools, equipment, materials, and work areas organized.
- Perform other general shop and yard duties as required.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a shop, construction, fabrication, welding, mechanical, warehouse, industrial, or yard environment is an asset.
- Experience painting, repairing, modifying, or maintaining equipment or structures is an asset.
- Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers, skid steers, or other equipment is an asset.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Basic mechanical, construction, or fabrication skills are an asset.
- Able to safely lift, move, and handle materials and equipment.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is hands-on, dependable, hardworking, and mechanically inclined.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with tools, containers, equipment, and construction-related materials and is willing to learn new skills.

This is primarily a Shop / Yard Labourer position. The focus is on hands-on shop and yard work, including container painting and touch-ups, installing lockboxes and hardware, moving materials, operating yard equipment, and assisting with general container and facility maintenance.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work around vehicles and equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to climb in and out of containers and equipment.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to perform manual material-handling tasks.
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and shipping containers.

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
