We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Driller to join our team operating truck- and track-mounted drilling equipment throughout Alberta and Western Canada.

This position is suited to someone who can safely and independently operate a geotechnical drill, maintain equipment, work effectively with a Driller Assistant, and consistently deliver high-quality samples and professional field service to our clients.

Responsibilities

- Operate truck- and track-mounted geotechnical drilling rigs safely and efficiently
- Perform solid and hollow stem auger drilling, SPT sampling and rock coring
- Complete ODEX and air drilling where required
- Adjust drilling methods and equipment based on changing ground conditions
- Mobilize drilling and support equipment between projects
- Perform daily inspections, preventative maintenance and minor repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues in the field
- Complete drill records, field documentation, ELD and Hours of Service requirements
- Operate support equipment including skid steers, forklifts and picker trucks
- Maintain a safe, organized and professional drill site
- Work closely with and mentor Driller Assistants
- Follow company, client and regulatory safety requirements at all times

Equipment

Our fleet includes

- Diedrich D-120
- Diedrich D-50
- Mobile B-54
- Mobile B-57
- Mobile B-61HDX
- Morooka track-mounted geotechnical drill rigs
- Skid steers, forklifts, picker trucks and other support equipment

Experience with these specific units is an asset, but not required for an experienced geotechnical driller.

Qualifications

Required

- Previous geotechnical or environmental drilling experience

- Robust auger drilling experience

- Valid driver's licence




- Class 1 or Class 3 licence preferred; licence upgrading may be supported for the right candidate with proven drilling experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Ability to safely and independently operate drilling equipment
- Willingness to travel and work out of town
- Strong communication, teamwork and attention to detail
- Commitment to safe work practices and equipment care

Preferred Assets
- HQ/HQ3 rock coring experience
- ODEX or air drilling experience
- Experience with Diedrich, Mobile or Morooka equipment
- Experience training or mentoring Driller Assistants

- First Aid

- H2S Alive

- Ground Disturbance Level 2

We are willing to train an experienced driller on our specific equipment and coring systems where the candidate has the right drilling background, mechanical ability and attitude. Compensation & Benefits
- $33.00–$48.00 per hour, based on experience and capabilities
- Experienced drillers capable of independently operating a geotechnical rig will be considered toward the top of the posted range
- Hotels or camp provided while working away
- $60/day subsistence when staying in hotels

Work Environment This is a field-based position requiring travel to project locations throughout Alberta and Western Canada.

Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions, operating heavy equipment, working around commercial vehicles, and performing physically demanding field work.
