Role Description The GIS Analyst is a full time, on-site role based in the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area. In this role, the GIS Analyst will compile, manage, and analyze spatial and non-spatial data to support environmental science, engineering, and consulting projects. Day-to-day tasks include creating and maintaining GIS databases, producing maps and spatial visualizations, conducting spatial analyses, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

The GIS Analyst will collaborate with project teams to provide spatial insights, prepare reports and presentations, and support decision-making with high-quality geospatial information.



The role also involves working with various GIS applications and tools while adhering to project timelines and standards.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and GIS Analysis, with experience applying these skills to real-world projects.
- Hands-on experience with GIS Applications and tools commonly used in environmental, engineering, or consulting contexts.
- Strong Data Management skills, including organizing, processing, and maintaining spatial and tabular datasets.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills for interpreting spatial data, identifying patterns, and supporting evidence-based recommendations.
- Relevant post-secondary education in geography, environmental science, geomatics, engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python or SQL for GIS) and familiarity with mapping standards are assets.
