About the Project

The Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Aeronautics (WISA) has been awarded a Global Futures project at the University of Waterloo under the direction of Dr.

Suzanne

Kearns. One task within the project is to map out the cross modal opportunities and strengths at the University of Waterloo in the area of sustainable transportation. Significant data measuring transportation research activity on campus has been collected. The research assistant will fill gaps in this database and tabulate final charts and graphs for our final report. The main task for the research assistant will be to conduct stakeholder interviews both on-campus and beyond including internationally to ask stakeholders what types of transportation research institutes have been created successfully at other universities and what is needed for the future.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements

Registration in a PhD program is preferred. Master’s students will be considered. Must be in a research program.

Experiential Qualifications

Experience in sustainable transportation systems as well as graduate work in an academic field related to transportation.

Course Specific Requirements

- Some coursework related to transportation systems.

Compensation: $58.46 / hour, plus 4% vacation pay (GRA – Doctoral)
