Nanaimo Foodshare is a well-established charity working to improve access to affordable, nutritious food and food knowledge in our community. We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer to support our programs by securing funding from foundations and government sources.
Responsibilities
-Become familiar with the granting cycle and potential funding opportunities
-Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of applications
-Write and submit grant proposals to secure funding for various projects and programs
-Collaborate with program managers and staff to gather necessary information for grant applications including budgets and financial reports for grant proposals
-Track and report on the progress of funded projects to grantors
-Stay updated on current trends and best practices in grant writing
-Responsible meet deadlines in an organized way
Qualifications
- - Minimum 3 years of grant writing experience in a non-profit setting
- Strong writing,
research, and organizational skills
- Ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Willingness to work on-site in Nanaimo
- Knowledge of local non-profits and funding sources is an asset
