Job Summary

We are seeking reliable and safety-conscious Grasshopper Blueberry Harvester Drivers for our short-season harvest in Pictou County. If you enjoy outdoor work and want to earn competitive wages during a focused, fast-paced seasonal window, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

- Operate grasshopper harvesters designed for blueberry harvesting, ensuring optimal performance throughout the harvest season
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on harvester using hand tools and power tools to keep equipment in top condition
- Conduct safety inspections of equipment and work areas, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines
- Monitor harvesting equipment to ensure optimal berry pick quality and minimal field damage.
- Communicate effectively with the field supervisor and crew regarding bin changes and field conditions
- Strictly follow all farm safety and food handling regulations.

Requirements





- Previous experience operating machinery is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Must have own reliable transportation to varying field locations within Pictou County
- Must be flexible to work long hours, including early mornings and weekends, depending on weather conditions.
- Robust attention to safety procedures and a proactive approach to equipment care and maintenance
- Strong work ethic and commitment to finishing out the short harvest season

This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment for a brief period of time. Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 66.0 per week
