GROUNDSMAN

Glacier Valley Tree Care Ltd. is seeking a reliable, hardworking Groundsman to join our utility line and residential crew. This is a hands-on position supporting tree maintenance, utility line work and residential services.

The successful candidate will work as part of a crew, operate equipment, assist with tree and vegetation management, and help maintain a safe and efficient worksite. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, learning new skills, and building a career in the utility and arboriculture industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist utility line crews with vegetation management and maintenance around power and utility lines.
- Perform residential tree and vegetation work as directed.
- Safely operate trucks, wood chippers, chainsaws, and other equipment.
- Feed and operate a wood chipper safely and efficiently.
- Assist with tree removal, pruning, cleanup, and material handling.
- Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Assist with traffic and worksite control as required.
- Load, unload, and transport equipment and materials.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Assist crew members with general utility and residential work as required.
- Participate in training and develop skills in tree climbing and aerial lift operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements





- Valid driver’s licence with a satisfactory driving record.
- Level 1 First Aid certification.
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to safely drive and operate a work truck.
- Ability to safely operate and feed a wood chipper.
- Ability to operate a chainsaw safely.
- Willingness to learn tree climbing techniques and safe operation of an aerial lift truck.
- Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow secure work practices.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a crew.
- Previous utility, arboriculture, landscaping, or construction experience is an asset.

Working Conditions

This is an active outdoor position requiring physical work, including lifting, carrying, walking over uneven terrain, working around equipment, and working in various weather conditions. The successful candidate must be comfortable working as part of a crew and willing to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1.0 – 40.0 per week
