- Education: Some High School required
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Work Setting: Hairstyling salon; urban area

Compensation & Advantages

- Salary: $21.00 / Hour for 32-40 Hours / Week

Responsibilities

- Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair
- Cut and trim hair according to client’s instructions or preferences
- Suggest hair style compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences
- Analyze hair and scalp condition
- Provide custom hair and scalp treatment
- Advise clients on beauty care treatments
- Apply hair extensions




- Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair
- Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages
- Shave and trim beards and mustaches
- Supervise apprentices/students in training
- Book appointments
- Shampoo customers’ hair
- Perform receptionist duties
- Maintain and order supplies
- Hair Styling Techniques: Blow drying, Iron waving/curling, Permanents, Roller setting, Extensions, Hair braiding
- Hair Colouring Techniques: Bleach, Dyes/tints, Frosting, Streaking/highlights
