Bricklayer’s Helper / Hardscape Laborer

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Bricklayer’s Helper / Hardscape Laborer to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work and wants to develop hands-on experience in bricklaying, concrete work, and hardscape construction.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced bricklayers and hardscape installers, assisting with the preparation, installation, and construction of patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, and other masonry features.

Responsibilities

- Assist bricklayers and hardscape installers with daily construction tasks.
- Load, carry, and move bricks, blocks, pavers, stone, concrete, and other materials to job sites and work areas.
- Mix and prepare concrete, mortar, and other construction materials according to project requirements.
- Prepare work areas by digging, grading, leveling, and clearing debris.
- Assist with setting and laying bricks, blocks, pavers, and stone.
- Help with building patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, garden walls, and other hardscape features.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with measuring, cutting, leveling, and maintaining proper grades and alignment.
- Load and unload materials and keep the job site clean, organized, and safe.
- Clean and maintain tools, mixers, wheelbarrows, equipment, and vehicles.
- Follow instructions from experienced tradespeople and work efficiently as part of a crew.




- Follow all workplace and job-site safety procedures.

Skills & Qualifications
- Previous construction, masonry, landscaping, or hardscape experience is an asset, but willingness to learn is more important.
- Comfortable with heavy lifting and physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Able to repeatedly lift and carry materials such as bricks, pavers, blocks, and bags of concrete.
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
- Willingness to learn bricklaying, concrete mixing, grading, leveling, and hardscape installation techniques.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions.
- Good attitude and ability to work well with a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in doing quality work.
- Ability to maintain a clean and secure work area.
