Alberta Home Care and Disabilities Services Inc. is urgently seeking an experienced and compassionate female Health Care Aide (HCA)/Caregiver to provide in-home support to a client living with ALS in Northeast Calgary.

Position Details

- Position: Health Care Aide (HCA) / Caregiver
- Location: Northeast Calgary, AB
- Employment: Part Time/caual
- Start Date: Immediate
- Language: Tagalog preferred
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience preferred

Requirements

- Minimum 2 years of relevant caregiving experience.
- Experience supporting individuals with ALS, neurological conditions, or complex care needs is strongly preferred.
- Valid HCA certification and applicable Alberta registration.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Medication Administration certification is an asset.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional.
- Ability to follow a care plan and work collaboratively with the client, family, and care team.
- Clear criminal record check and other required documentation.
- Must be able to reliably commute to Northeast Calgary.

Responsibilities





- Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living.
- Assist with mobility, positioning, and transfers as required.
- Provide support with meals and hydration.
- Assist with medication-related tasks as authorized.
- Monitor and report changes in the client's condition.
- Follow the established care plan and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate care documentation.
- Provide compassionate companionship and respectful, person-centred support.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a female HCA/caregiver with at least 2 years of experience, preferably someone who speaks Tagalog and has experience working with clients requiring complex or neurological care.
