Heavy Duty Fleet MechanicJob Overview

We are looking for a reliable, skilled, and positive Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This position is mainly focused on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our commercial truck and trailer fleet.

Our fleet includes International, Freightliner, Volvo, and Kenworth semi-trucks, 53-foot dry van and reefer trailers, and pike converters.

Responsibilities

- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain, air systems, and electrical systems.
- Maintain and repair 53-foot dry van and reefer trailers.
- Maintain and repair pike converters.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs when required.
- Use diagnostic equipment, service manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot problems.
- Complete maintenance records and work orders accurately.
- Identify issues early and help reduce breakdowns and downtime.
- Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and tidy.




- Follow all safety procedures and ensure equipment is safe and road-ready.

Requirements
- Experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, or Truck and Transport Mechanic.
- Experience working on Class 8 trucks and commercial trailers.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with International, Freightliner, Volvo, or Kenworth is an asset.
- Reefer, welding, and pike converter experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and tidy work workplace.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship.

Pay: $27.00-$42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
